Velocity helps rebuild after Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey was a Category Four hurricane that made landfall on Aug. 25, 2017 across Aransas County including Port Aransas and Rockport. Also affected was Corpus Christi metropolitan area and all of Victoria. The storm caused catastrophic flooding in the Houston metropolitan area, which included major cities of Conroe, Spring, The Woodlands and all the way to Galveston.

With peak accumulations of 51.88 inches, Harvey is the wettest tropical cyclone on record in the contiguous United States. The continuous rainfall and flooding has also affected East Texas and the Beaumont and Port Arthur area requiring mandatory evacuations. The resulting floods inundated hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000 people, and prompted more than 17,000 rescues.
